Lip Blushing PMU

A soft wash of color that makes your lips look like your lips — on their best day.

$350 4 hr

What it is

Lip blushing is a semi-permanent makeup technique that deposits soft, sheer pigment into the lips to enhance their natural color, define the shape, and even out tone. It's not a lipstick look — it's a 'your lips but better,' just-bitten flush.

It can also subtly correct uneven pigmentation and make lips read fuller.

What to expect

Your appointment, start to finish.

Plan for about 4 hours. We start with a consultation to choose a shade that flatters your natural tone, then I outline and build the color in gradual layers after numbing. The process is detailed and we take it slow for an even result. A perfecting touch-up at 6–8 weeks is part of the process.

Results & who it's for

Great for anyone with pale, uneven, or undefined lips, or anyone who wants a natural flush without reapplying lipstick all day. Lip blushing lasts roughly 1–3 years, softening over time. Healed color is much softer than what you see on day one.

Before your appointment

  • If you're prone to cold sores, tell me — lip PMU can trigger an outbreak, and an antiviral from your doctor beforehand is usually recommended.
  • Avoid retinol / Retin-A around the lips for 2–4 weeks, and Accutane within the last year.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before; follow your doctor on any blood-thinning prescriptions.
  • Exfoliate and hydrate your lips in the days before for the smoothest canvas.
  • PMU cannot be performed over active irritation, infection, or breakouts on or around the lips.

Aftercare

  • Lips look bold and feel dry/tight for the first few days, then peel lightly — don't pick, and keep them moisturized as directed.
  • Color softens dramatically as it heals; the true result shows once fully healed.
  • Avoid spicy, salty, and acidic foods, plus sun and saunas, while healing.
  • Keep lips hydrated and out of the sun long-term to preserve the color.

FAQ

Good questions.

Does lip blushing hurt?

Lips are sensitive, but I numb throughout and most clients describe it as very manageable — more buzzy than painful.

What color will my lips be?

We choose a shade together that enhances your natural lip tone rather than overpowering it. The goal is a believable flush, not a drawn-on lipstick.

How long is the healing?

The initial heal is about 5–10 days of dryness and light peeling. Color looks intense at first, softens as it heals, and settles into its true tone over a few weeks.

I get cold sores — can I still do this?

Often yes, but you will likely need a prescribed antiviral before and after to prevent an outbreak. Tell me at booking and check with your doctor.

How long does lip blushing last?

Roughly 1–3 years. A color boost refreshes it as it fades.
