Powder iBrows PMU
A soft, shaded finish like a perfectly filled brow — minus the daily pencil.
What it is
Powder brows (also called ombré or shaded brows) are a permanent-makeup technique that builds a soft, gradient shading across the brow — lighter at the front, deeper through the body and tail, just like a beautifully filled-in powder brow.
It's the look of your favorite brow makeup, applied once and worn for years.
What to expect
Your appointment, start to finish.
Set aside about 4 hours for this multi-step session. After a full consultation, I map and draw your shape for approval, numb the area, then build the shading in gradual passes with a digital machine. A perfecting touch-up at 6–8 weeks is part of the process, and you see the final, softened result once it is fully healed.
Results & who it's for
A fantastic choice for oily skin (where microblading can blur), for anyone who already fills their brows daily, and for those who want a soft, polished, done look. Powder brows last roughly 1–3 years — generally longer than microblading — fading gradually until a color boost refreshes them.
Before your appointment
- Disclose any previous brow tattooing or PMU.
- Avoid retinol / Retin-A near the brows for 2–4 weeks, and Accutane within the last year.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before; follow your doctor on any blood-thinning prescriptions.
- No Botox near the brows for 2–3 weeks prior.
- PMU cannot be performed over active acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, infections, or irritation.
- Bring clear, natural-light photos of your brows at booking.
Aftercare
- Expect darker, more intense color for the first several days that softens substantially as it heals.
- A light peeling/flaking phase is normal — don't pick; let it shed on its own.
- Keep the area clean and dry as directed; avoid sweat, sun, saunas, and pools while healing.
- Skip actives and exfoliants on the brows until fully healed.
FAQ
Good questions.
How long do powder brows last?
Usually 1–3 years — often longer than microblading. A periodic color boost keeps the shade crisp.
Are powder brows good for oily skin?
Yes — they are often the better PMU choice for oily skin because the shaded technique holds up where fine microbladed strokes tend to blur.
Will they look too dark or harsh?
They look bold for the first few days, then soften dramatically as they heal. The healed result is a soft, natural gradient — and we control the intensity together during mapping.
Powder vs combo brows — which do I need?
Powder is all soft shading; combo adds crisp hair strokes at the front for extra realism. We decide based on your skin and the look you want.
